Alex Dimitrief joined GE in 2007 and became General Counsel in 2015. Previously, he was a trial lawyer with Kirkland & Ellis LLP and was a White House Fellow in the Reagan Administration's Office of Political and Intergovernmental Affairs. Alex also serves on the Global Board of Trustees of the Ronald McDonald House Charities.  

General Electric was an early adopter of inclusive workplace practices, including its 1936 Fair Employment Policy/Anti-Discrimination Statement. The company has employee resource networks and has received a perfect score on the Human Right Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index every year since 2014. In 2017, GE announced goals of having 20,000 women to fill STEM roles at GE by 2020 and obtaining 50:50 representation for all of GE's technical entry-level programs.
