Annie Khalid is Head of Legal & Corporate Secretary at Glassdoor, the worldwide leader on insights about jobs and companies, whose mission is to help people find a job and company they love. In this capacity, Annie helps lead Glassdoor’s efforts to advocate for diverse, equitable and inclusive workplaces. She joined the company in 2021, following tenures initially as a DC-based litigator at Arnold & Porter, and then in corporate in-house roles at several Silicon Valley tech companies. Notably, Annie has maintained a commitment to the promotion of DEI initiatives over the years via pro bono representation, community volunteering and nonprofit board service.
In 2020, Glassdoor publicly shared its vision to bring radical transparency to workplaces everywhere, which included developing a workforce that is diverse, inclusive and reflective of the communities in which it operates. Currently, approximately 25% of Glassdoor’s new hires are among underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, as the company continues to grow its audience of more than 59 million job seekers each month.
In order to bring even more transparency to any inequities in the workplace, Glassdoor has also introduced new product features displaying employee sentiment ratings and pay data by race/ethnicity, gender identity and more, as well as enabling employees to rate how satisfied they are with DE&I at their current or former company.
In addition, Glassdoor’s in-house economics team conducts an annual pay equity analysis on Glassdoor’s own employee compensation, as part of its continued effort to ensure that company pay practices are equitable. The tool kit for this analysis, which is designed to identify potentially inequitable pay practices across gender and race/ethnicity, is offered to others free of charge with the goal of empowering others to guard against inequitable pay practices.
