Senior Vice President & Chief Legal Officer, United Airlines
Bob Rivkin channeled his childhood love of planes, trains, and automobiles into a career in transportation, holding legal leadership roles with the Chicago Transit Authority, the U.S. Department of Transportation, and Delta Airlines. In 2019, Bob became Senior Vice President and General Counsel of United Airlines. He also served as Deputy Mayor of Chicago from 2017 to 2019.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts at United include near-perfect pay equity, several business resource groups, and a cultural mentoring program for leaders. In April of 2021, United announced a goal of 50% diversity for new students at its flight school, bolstered by scholarships for women and people of color. The company also partnered with LCLD Member law firm Kirkland & Ellis to donate $50,000 to community partners focused on diversity.
United was named an LCLD Most Active Member Corporation in 2017 and 2018.
