Executive Vice President, Global Public Policy, and General Counsel 

Craig Glidden joined General Motors in 2015 as General Counsel. He was previously Chief Legal Officer of LyondellBasell, and held a similar role at Chevron Phillips Chemical Company. In 2016, Craig received the inaugural Sabatino Advocate Award from the Women’s In-House Counsel Leadership Institute, which honors male general counsel who champion women throughout their careers.  

As part of LCLD's Leaders at the Front initiative, Craig created a Leader's Pledge detailing his personal and organizational commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Read Craig's pledge here

General Motors has a history of diverse leadership; in 1971, GM became the first Fortune 500 company to have an African-American directors on its Board, and in 2014, it was the first company in the auto industry to have a female CEO. GM is No. 31 on DiversityInc’s list of the Top 50 Companies for Diversity, recognized in particular for tying executive compensation to diversity goals and working to get more women engaged in STEM fields. 

GM was named an LCLD Top Performer in 2021 and 2022.
