David Zapolsky joined Amazon in 1999 and led the Litigation and Regulatory Group before becoming General Counsel in 2012. He has led the rapid growth of the company's legal department, and has also encouraged participation in many diversity and pro bono activities

As part of LCLD's Leaders at the Front initiative, David created a Leader's Pledge detailing his personal and organizational commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Read David's pledge here

Diversity initiatives within the legal department include a policy to sponsor attorneys who want to participate in community minority bar associations and partnership with the OnRamp Fellowship. Amazon also has companywide initiatives that support women and minorities, including affinity groups and tracking diversity data.
