Senior Executive Vice President and General Counsel, U.S. Bancorp
As the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of U.S. Bancorp, the parent company of U.S. Bank—the fifth largest commercial bank in the United States—Jim Chosy is focused on building and promoting diverse culture. Through his work, he continues to challenge the legal profession to eradicate barriers and disparities to achieve full equality.
“To perform optimally, now and into the future, we know we need the best collection of diverse minds in our legal department and at our outside law firms,” Jim says. “Diversity and inclusion is a defining characteristic of our culture at U.S. Bank, and our Law Division is no exception.”
An avid champion of diversity, Jim was recognized by the National Association of Women Lawyers in 2019 with their annual “Lead By Example” award for his ongoing advocacy and commitment to advancing women attorneys.
As part of LCLD's Leaders at the Front initiative, Jim created a Leader's Pledge detailing his personal and organizational commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Read Jim's pledge here.
In addition to its efforts to increase workforce diversity, U.S. Bank also works to identify, develop, and build strong relationships with certified small and diverse business enterprises through its supplier diversity program. The company is also focused on meeting the wants and needs of its diverse customers and makes a meaningful impact in the communities it serves through its corporate citizenship platform, Community Possible.
U.S. Bank was named an LCLD Top Performer in 2021 and 2022.
