Jennifer Newstead joined Meta in 2019 as General Counsel. She was previously the Legal Adviser of the US State Department. Earlier in her career, Jennifer was a Partner at Davis, Polk & Wardwell and held various senior roles in government, including General Counsel of the White House Office of Management and Budget and General Counsel of the White House Office of Management and Budget. Jennifer also clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer. 

Facebook provides unconscious bias training for employees. The company is transparent about efforts to improve workplace diversity and inclusion; in 2020, women held 34% of leadership roles, and since 2016, representation of Black and Hispanic employees has improved. In 2019, Facebook spent $515 million with diverse suppliers, and aims to spend $1 billion by 2021.
