Jennifer Zachary became General Counsel of Merck in 2018. She was previously a Partner in Covington & Burling's food, drug, and device practice group and has served as Associate Chief Counsel for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in Washington, D.C.
In 2010, the Merck legal team earned the Matthew J. Whitehead Diversity Award for efforts to increase corporate legal diversity. Merck also has a Global Diversity and Inclusion Center of Excellence that ensures business practices respect diversity, as well as employee resource groups and a supplier diversity program that is currently expanding on a global level.
