Interim General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, NiSource Inc.

Kimberly Cuccia has been a part of NiSource since joining the law department in 2008. She became Interim General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of NiSource in 2021, overseeing all legal matters for NiSource’s gas and electric utility operating companies in six states. Prior to her current role, she served as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of Regulatory for NiSource and before that, General Counsel for Columbia Gas of Massachusetts. As General Counsel for Columbia Gas of Massachusetts, she oversaw legal strategy and planning for the company and the business team established to respond to the restoration, litigation and investigations associated with the 2018 Merrimack Valley natural gas incident. She is currently a member of the American Gas Association and various State Bar Associations.

Kim is active in NiSource’s DE&I efforts and works to build a culture of belonging, understanding, and acceptance. NiSource believes that ethical business conduct is the foundation of a workplace. The company’s DE&I conversation internally takes place at the officer level as a regular topic at the company’s leadership table, along with more recently tying part of officer compensation to established DE&I goals. Additional diversity and inclusion efforts include mentoring programs, employee resource groups, and a supplier diversity program. NiSource’s DE&I efforts were also featured in the October 2021 issue of Savoy Magazine.
