Executive Vice President, General Counsel, & Secretary, T-Mobile USA Inc.

Mark Nelson became Executive Vice President & General Counsel for T-Mobile in October of 2021, where he oversees legal and government affairs. He previously practiced law for more than 25 years at Cleary Gottlieb, where he worked on a broad range of complex matters involving mergers and antitrust counseling, civil and criminal litigation, and regulatory proceedings before federal and state government agencies.

Mark is committed to making diversity and inclusion a top priority in his role at T-Mobile. While working at Cleary, he served on the firm’s Executive Committee and helped expand the firm’s diversity initiatives and build DE&I mentorship programs for its associates. He is excited to continue this work at T-Mobile in partnership with the company’s well established Legal Affairs DE&I Committee.

T-Mobile and the T-Mobile legal affairs department support diversity in many ways, including through its Diversity Excellence Award, which is given annually to a law firm with strong associate and equity partner diversity. The company as a whole is a signatory of CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion, has a supplier diversity program, and partners with organizations like the National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms. T-Mobile is also proud that people of color make up 60% percent of its workforce and women make up 41% percent.

T-Mobile was named an LCLD Top Performer in 2021 and 2022.
