General Counsel, Americas, BNP Paribas
Peter Cooke became General Counsel, Americas of BNP Paribas in 2016, where he leads the company’s legal department for North and Latin America. He previously served as General Counsel of Treasury for General Electric and GE Capital. Peter was born in England, where he attended the University of Leicester.
As of 2017, 40 percent of BNP Paribas Top 100 managers were women, and the company is on track to have women make up 30 percent of the bank’s 2,000 senior managers. The CEO of BNP Paribas was also selected by France’s United Nations Women National Committee as an ambassador for HeForShe, through which the company is committed to increasing diversity in traditionally male lines of business.
BNP Paribas was named an LCLD Top Performer in 2020 and 2021.
