Ed Gates has been Chairman of Wolf Greenfield for 15 years, a member of its strategic planning committee for over 20 years, and President and Managing Partner from 2000–05 and again beginning in 2021. He is also the founder of the firm’s biotechnology and pharmaceutical groups, and has been consistently recognized by Chambers, Best Lawyers in America, and Massachusetts Super Lawyers, among others.

In 2010, Wolf Greenfield established a diversity committee to execute initiatives as well as to support and connect with the diverse communities in which the firm operates. The firm offers a $25,000 fellowship for diverse summer associates, has sponsored the GLAD Annual Spirit of Justice Awards Dinner since 2011, and conducts biannual firm-wide training on the importance of workplace diversity.
