Chair, Kutak Rock LLP 

 

John Petr became Chair of Kutak Rock in 2022. He practices in the Public Finance Department of Kutak Rock's Omaha office, focusing on housing, energy finance, and project finance. John was selected as a Fellow of the Nebraska State Bar Foundation in 2021. He earned his J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley School of Law and his B.A., summa cum laude, from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. 

Kutak Rock was a pioneer for recruiting women, receiving national recognition for its number of women partners in the 1970s. Today, 56 percent of the firm’s attorneys are women and/or minorities; the firm also has 8 times the national average for partners with disabilities and 2 times the national average for LGBT partners. Kutak Rock also has a National Inclusiveness and Diversity Forum, which includes affinity groups, pipeline groups, and groups focused on mentoring, communication, and training.
