Madeleine McDonough became Chair of Shook, Hardy & Bacon in 2017. She was previously Chair of the firm’s Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Practice. In 2014, Madeleine was named one of the nation’s top-50 Litigation Trailblazers & Pioneers by The National Law Journal and is a lecturer in global health law at the Georgetown University Law Center.
As part of LCLD's Leaders at the Front initiative, Madeleine created a Leader's Pledge detailing her personal and organizational commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Read Madeleine's pledge here.
Shook, Hardy & Bacon’s diversity efforts include law school workshops through a partnership with the National Black Law Students Association, a Women’s Management Council, and required diversity action from all attorneys. In 2017, the firm received a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index for the tenth year in a row.
“We want to be at the forefront of protection for members of the LGBTQ community and other groups, including minorities and women,” Madeleine said. “We want everyone to bring their best energy to work every day.”
