Mary-Jo Rebelo became CEO of Burns White in 2021. She is also Co-Chair of the firm's Employee Practices Liability and Complex Commercial Litigation/Dispute Resolution practice groups, and a senior member of the Business Practices and Litigation groups. She has been appointed as both a Special Master and a Special Discovery Master by the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and is the immediate Past Chairperson of the Judiciary Committee of the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA). Mary-Jo was recognized as Woman of the Year by the Women’s Law Association at Duquesne University for her professional, moral, and ethical integrity, and commitment to the community.
Burns White’s diversity efforts include an annual reception for diverse law students, professional development, and a mentoring program that pairs less experienced attorneys with senior attorneys. The firm also has a Women’s Initiative, which meets regularly to discuss issues like work-life balance. Burns White is also a founding member of the Pittsburgh Pro Bono Partnership.
