Robert Surrette serves as President of McAndrews, Held & Malloy. His practice focuses on the resolution of intellectual property and technology-related disputes with an emphasis on patent, trademark, trade secret, and trade dress litigation. Bob has led a number of diverse organizations, including serving as President of the Chicago-Kent Alumni Board of Directors, President of the Richard Linn American Inn of Court, and Regional Commissioner of American Youth Soccer Organization Region 210. In 2021, Crain's Chicago Business named him a Gen X Leader in Accounting, Consulting, and Law.
McAndrews allows attorneys to claim up to 50 hours of billable credit per year on DE&I activities like leading DE&I events, sponsoring underrepresented professionals, and participating in DE&I activities with clients. The firm regularly works with organizations like the Greater Chicago Legal Clinic, the Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights, and the Diverse Attorney Pipeline Program. McAndrews also has a women's group, a professional development committee, and an annual Diversity in Patent Law Fellowship.
