Steve Zubiago became CEO and Managing Partner of Nixon Peabody in 2021 after leading the firm's Business & Finance Department. As CEO, Steve leads the firm's participation in the Move the Needle Fund, through which the firm is working to increase the representation of women, minorities, and LBGTQ+ attorneys in the equity partnership ranks.
"I am a straight white man, but I am committed to doing the work—by advocating and learning," Steve wrote in a recent article on his commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. "We need allies, sponsors, advocates, and leaders to come together and build a more inclusive organization."
Nixon Peabody has won many awards for diversity. The firm was named one of the top Illinois firms for inclusion of LGBT employees in 2015, received the Gold Standard Certification Award from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum, and was named an Outstanding Volunteer in Public Service by the San Francisco Bar Justice & Diversity Center. Nixon Peabody was named an LCLD Top Performer in 2020.
