Co-Managing Partner, WilmerHale

Susan Murley joined WilmerHale in 1986 and became Co-Managing Partner in 2012. She previously served as Chair of the Transactional Department, Chair of the Corporate Practice Group, and Chair of the firm's Hiring Committee. Susan is one of very few women serving as co-managing partner of an AmLaw 100 firm, and is proud to lead a partnership that is 25 percent female

"A look at the firm’s work over the past two years shows 60 percent of our largest investigatory matters were handled by women; of the litigation cases tried by the firm, 50 percent were women led or co-led; and 41 and of the firm’s 75 public offerings and Rule 144 placements—which raised over $30 billion—were led by women," Susan said in a 2018 interview

As part of LCLD's Leaders at the Front initiative, Susan created a Leader's Pledge detailing her personal and organizational commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Read Susan's pledge here

WilmerHale's commitment to diversity includes participation in the Mansfield Rule, bringing in diverse summer associates, and partnering with clients on diversity programming. WilmerHale is part of a smaller number of AmLaw100 firms that have had both a woman and a person of color as a co-managing partner.

WilmerHale was named an LCLD Top Performer in 2021 and 2022.
