Leadership Positions

Michael is an active member of BakerHostetler's Inclusion and Diversity Committee, as well as its LGBTQ+ Affinity Group, its Lawyers with Disabilities Affinity Group, and serves as the co-chair of the New York Office's Wellness Committee and is a member of the New York Office's Pro Bono Committee. Michael is a Commissioner on the American Bar Association's Commission on Disability Rights as well as the Chair of the American Bar Association's Business Law Section's Lawyers with Disabilities Involvement Subcommittee. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the American Bar Association's Business Bankruptcy Committee's eNewsletter. Michael is also a board member for Credit Abuse Resistance Education (CARE), a national non-profit with the goal of educating young adults and others about the benefits of financial management and literacy. Michael has been selected as the American Bankruptcy Institute "40 Under 40" Emerging Leaders in Insolvency Practice in 2021, the Chambers USA's Diversity and Inclusion's "Future Leader - LGBT+ Equality" Award in 2019, The National LGBT Bar Association's "Best LGBTQ+ Lawyers Under 40" in 2019, and as a New York Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine each year since 2015.
