A record number of LCLD Members and Fellows met in Chicago on September 28 and 29 to build on the organization's success in developing programs and initiatives to advance diversity in the legal profession.
Called to action by President Robert Grey and Board Chairman Brad Smith, president of Microsoft Corporation, the Members enjoyed an LCLD recap video, "The Year in Review," then participated in a series of roundtable workshops, hosted by Member corporations, to add curricula for LCLD programs, expand regional initiatives, develop new pipeline partnerships, and communicate the core values of justice and the legal profession with a new generation of diverse talent.
Action ideas from those roundtable discussions will soon be posted here, or as a pdf for download, below.
Another highlight of the day came at lunch, when LCLD Members, invited guests, and the Fellows Class of 2015 listened as Martha Minow, Dean of Harvard Law School, delivered an eloquent keynote address entitled "What Really Makes a Difference? Vision and Action for Diversity in the Legal Profession." To see Dean Minow's speech, click here.
