Due to COVID-19, LCLD has decided to cancel in-person 1L LCLD Scholars Summit that was previously scheduled for June 2-4, 2020 at The Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta, GA. If you haven’t already done so, please cancel any reservations you have made on behalf of 1L Scholars at The Westin Peachtree Plaza. You can reach the reservation system at 404-589-8060.

Instead, we will provide enhanced virtual programming during four meetings on Tuesdays throughout the summer: June 30, July 14, July 28, and August 4, 2020. An agenda is linked in the "Resources" section at the left and bottom of this page. Please see the "Virtual Meetings" section below for a summary of content that will be provided, and to access calendar listings for each meeting.

Virtual Mock Interviews: Attorney Registration

Please note that the Mock Interviews that were previously scheduled to happen in person in June have been rescheduled to take place virtually on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm ET.

LCLD attorneys located nationwide at LCLD Member organizations are invited to volunteer to conduct Virtual Mock Interviews. Click here for information about the mock interviewing process, and click here to register to conduct mock interviews. The deadline to register is Friday, July 17, 2020.

1L Scholars will receive instructions to register for Virtual Mock Interviews in early June 2020.

Virtual Meetings 

Virtual content provided to 2020 1L LCLD Scholars throughout the summer will include the following:

• A personalized, emotional intelligence assessment with lessons on how to utilize results to be successful in the workplace
• Interactive, virtual sessions on wellness, navigating generational differences, dispelling the myth of the billable hour, and lessons learned from seasoned attorneys
• Best practices around how to succeed in virtual interviews, as well as opportunities for Scholars to participate in virtual mock interviews with LCLD attorney volunteers

Virtual Social Hours

Two virtual Social Hours will give 2020 1L LCLD Scholars an opportunity to socialize in small groups and get to know each other on a more personal level. 2020 1L Scholars are invited to register for the options below that best fit their schedule.
