New Jersey Alumni Month of Service

Location: Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Hillside Warehouse (31 Evans Terminal Road, Hillside, NJ 07205)
Give back to the New Jersey community by participating in the New Jersey Month of Service, which will be partnering with the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ) on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 9:00 AM ET. We will be working in their warehouse inspecting, sorting, and repacking donated food items for community distribution. Please email Reymond Yammine or Sheea Sybblis to RSVP
Health and safety: effective 10/3/22 we have removed our longstanding mask requirement, but we will remain a “mask-friendly" facility. This means that while face coverings will no longer be required, anyone can wear them if they choose to, based on their level of comfort.
DRESS CODE:
No OPEN-TOE SHOES or HIGH HEELS
No purses, wristlets, fanny packs or backpacks
No short shorts, muscle shirts, tank tops, short skirts, loose or hanging clothing
As for volunteer activities at our warehouse, depending on what our needs are on a given day, volunteers might pack boxes of shelf-stable food for our Emergency Meal Kits, Senior Boxes, or Family (Back) Pack Program, prepare meals in our production kitchen, sort/package pasta, or sort and separate donated food and product in our Repack area. Each of these activities supports CFBNJ's feeding and food distribution to neighbors in need in New Jersey.
We currently welcome minors starting at 12 years of age. Teens 12-15 do need to be accompanied by a parent/adult guardian, while those 16 years and older may come on their own. We are always happy to sign off on service hours completed and have forms available for those young volunteers who need them. Recently, CFBNJ re-instituted shifts for our youngest volunteers 6-11 years of age and their parents on a periodic basis: information about Junior Volunteer Days is on our website.
