Leadership Positions

Mark serves in leadership roles for several organizations, including serving as a trustee for the Next Generation Development Corporation, chairman of the Isabelle Ridgway Foundation, the Ohio Minority Supplier Development Council, and Capital University Law School – Board of Counselors. He is also a Commissioner on the Ohio Supreme Court Continuing Legal Education Commission. In September, 2014, Mark was appointed by Ohio Governor John R. Kasich to serve as a trustee at Central State University where he chairs the Budget and Finance Committee. In 2015 Mark was recognized as one of the “2015 Most Influential Black Lawyers” by Savoy Magazine, the leading African-American lifestyle magazine focusing on fashion, business, technology, and style. The list appeared in the spring issue, and showcased visionaries, leaders, and advocates within the legal profession who are widely recognized for their professionalism, protection of rights, and community service. Savoy Magazine selected the “best of the best” of Black lawyers who are partners within leading national law firms and in-house counsel from Fortune 1000 corporations. Among other honors, Mark has been named an “Ohio Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine each year since 2012. He was recognized in 2009 as one of Columbus Business First’s “Forty Under 40,” inducted into the American Bar Foundation as fellow in 2011, and selected as the 2011 Young Alumnus of the Year by the Capital University Law School Alumni Association. He also was selected as a “Top Lawyer” by Lawyer of Color Magazine in 2014, and was presented with the David D. White Leadership Award by Capital University Law School in 2016.
