Personal Commitment
- I will use my voice as a leader and culture carrier in my organization to promote a culture of inclusion and belonging and to promote the value of diversity and equity across the firm.
- I will require that my leadership team have goals which include advancing our people agenda, including continuing to build a more diverse and inclusive team.
- I will continue my personal learning journey so that I can listen, learn and engage in meaningful conversations and develop as a culturally competent leader.
- I will introduce LCLD across our team and take advantage of LCLD programming and the LCLD community to enhance our DEI&B efforts.
- I will support the development, retention and mobility of underrepresented talent within the organization and partner within my organization to broaden our external network to access diverse hiring pools when recruiting for new roles.
Organizational Commitment
- We willset expectations with outside counsel that diverse partners and associates meaningfully contribute to work done on organizational matters and explore how to partner with more minority and women owned law firms as well as law firms which embrace DEI&B initiatives.
- We will invest in and support participation in department and organization wide programing, training and activities that foster diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging across the team, the organization and in our communities.
- We will foster an inclusive workplace where diversity of thought and experience is valued and practiced, empowering our managers to lead in such a manner through training, support and recognition.
- We will begin building a pro bono program driven by a diverse volunteer team, that serves a diverse population of people in need of legal aid, consistent with our organization’s commitment to diverse, equitable and inclusive community involvement, support and impact.
- We will ask preferred firms to support our DEI&B initiatives by collaborating with us in support of our summer associate and intern programming, training opportunities and other ways to expand career opportunities for diverse talent.
