Personal Commitments

  • I will use my voice in my firm and within the New Orleans legal community to advocate for and advance DEI.
  • I will support and co-lead the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee to ensure that I demonstrate my commitment to the committee, its members, and our strategic plan.
  • I will actively support our firm’s participation in LCLD programs.

Organizational Commitments

In 2020, Barrasso established its first Diversity & Inclusion Committee with a goal to recruit, retain, promote, and include talented attorneys and staff representing a full range of races, genders, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, national origins, ages, and physical abilities. We have committed that:

  • We will aim for 100% attendance at annual diversity and inclusion training for all staff and lawyers.
  • We will consider DEI best practices when staffing matters.
  • We will identify and expand the law schools from which the Firm recruits/requests resumes to help recruit diverse attorneys.
  • We will consider diversity and inclusion efforts in our annual associate evaluations.
  • We will look for ways to partner with clients on DEI initiatives.
