It is my sincere belief that advancing and leading on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) is a business imperative, makes us a more effective counselors and advisors to our company, and promotes a more fulfilling work experience for all members of the Constellation Energy legal department.
In furtherance of advancing and leading on DEI, I, David Dardis, pledge to the following:
Personal Commitment
- I will use my voice as a leader to advocate for DEI in my organization, the legal profession, and my community.
- I will take a broad view of diversity and equity to help foster inclusion and the entire legal department becoming more invested in our DEI commitment.
- I will ensure that all lawyers in my department, including diverse lawyers, gain exposure to senior leaders and executives within our company.
- I will sponsor and mentor high potential attorneys within my department, and ensure that all high potential, diverse attorneys are benefitting from sponsorship.
- I will meet regularly with my department’s DEI Committee and LCLD Fellows and Pathfinders to discuss our department’s DEI efforts.
- I will include a DEI topic on a recurring basis during our all-hands legal department meetings.
- I will serve as Executive Sponsor for an Employee Resource Group within my company.
Organizational Commitment
- Our department will participate in LCLD programs and other initiatives to help develop a pipeline of diverse talent entering careers in law and energy.
- Our department will establish goals for increasing spend with MWBE law firms.
- Our department will establish goals for increasing spend with diverse attorneys at large law firms.
- Our department will continue to sponsor DEI programming, encourage a culture of openness, respect, and belonging, and promote ways to support each person’s inclusion and wellbeing.
- I will require diverse slates when hiring for any attorney position in the legal department. I will require diverse slates of interviewers in hiring for any position in legal.
