Personal Commitment 

  • I will use my voice as a leader to continuously seek to improve demographics as the team mindfully builds the firm, including through internal and external initiatives. 
  • I will commit to our culture of openness, diversity, inclusivity, and equality that drives the firm and individuals, making this message public for all and allowing knowledge of these guiding values. 
  • I will use my position among my firm leadership to review each year's commitments to ensure that, as the firm grows, we stay within these core values that have assembled us. 
  • I will meet quarterly with firm partners to increase initiatives that promote the support of organizations representing inclusivity and the interest of diverse lawyers.

Organizational Commitment 

  • Despite the firm’s significant DE&I recognition, we will continue identifying and selecting candidates during expansion who share in the firm’s culture commitment to historically underrepresented groups. 
  • We will persist in our recruiting, hiring, and retention efforts to ensure the uninterrupted diversity of our minority-owned intellectual property law firm. 
  • Focus not only on DE&I within the organization but also implement supporting vendor values commitment initiatives.
  • Continue active sponsorships and involvement in diversity bar organizations which promote providing opportunities in the legal profession. 
  • Our diversity will never be taken for granted, nor will it be celebrated as an infrequent or out-of-the-ordinary achievement, because doing the right thing is expected, valued, and revered. 
  • Continue to understand and respect cultural differences and recognize the core holidays associated with all cultures. 
  • As a small firm with no hiring committee, we all take personal responsibility to treat everyone with whom we come into contact fairly and equally, with respect and appreciation. 
  • We will partner with our clients on DE&I initiatives as well as opportunities to advance the careers of diverse attorneys, both within and outside the organization.
  • We will continue to provide our clients with excellent work product, in such setting precedence for DE&I thereby destroying the insidious belief that diversity means lesser.
