Personal Commitment
- As the General Counsel, Executive DE&I Council member, and member of the Management Team of Humana, I pledge to use my voice and influence to advocate for greater diversity, equity, and inclusion across Humana, the communities we serve, and within the legal profession.
- I will continue to sponsor and mentor diverse talent across Humana, including in our Law, Risk and Compliance teams, where equality of opportunity and elimination of bias must be hallmarks of our advice to the company, by committing to develop diverse talent for leadership roles in the company.
- Ensuring that the law firms with which we work demonstrate a commitment to shared values of diversity, equity, and inclusion within their organizations and the legal profession.
- Including a diverse slate for every attorney position at Humana (Rooney Rule) and utilizing balanced interview panels to create the best experience for candidates.
- Communicating the progress we have made against our goals to drive awareness and meaningful progress.

- Advance DE&I in the legal profession by expecting our law firm partners to demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, through adoption of the Mansfield Rule, partnering to sponsor internships for diverse law students, and developing and advancing their diverse talent.
- Foster law firm relationships that mirror our own internal diversity aspirations by requiring our external law firms to staff Humana matters with diverse teams of attorneys and legal professionals and increasing Humana’s usage of women- and minority-owned law firms.
- Ensure that across the Law, Risk & Compliance teams at Humana, all leaders understand importance of supplier diversity, mitigating bias in the workplace and the business imperative to recruit, develop, and retain diverse talent.
