- Champion Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) at 3M to continue attracting, developing and retaining top talent.
- Lead 3M Legal Affairs in meeting or exceeding 3M's corporate goals for recruiting and advancing diverse talent into our leadership pipeline.
- Remain a vocal advocate and play a leadership role in the legal community to advance inclusion, equality, social justice and other initiatives, lending my voice to programs and advocating for resources.
Organizational Commitment
- Bring 3M’s dedication to purpose, promise and principles to life through the ongoing actions of our Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Committee to make 3M Legal Affairs more diverse, equitable and inclusive.
- Support 3M Legal Affairs engagement in pro bono and social justice legal services and programs though a fairness and equity lens as part of our dedication to good corporate citizenship and enhancing the communities in which we live and work.
- Build a strong employment brand in 3M Legal Affairs and recruit and include individuals with diverse experiences, backgrounds and ideas.
- Engage in outreach and support partnerships with organizations that promote diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.
- Further the advancement and impact of an organization we launched – the MN Coalition of Bar Associations of Color, which collects, analyzes and publishes disaggregated D&I data by firm and law department.
- Review and analyze metrics for our outside counsel Preferred Counsel Network (PCN) and ensure that our PCN firms prioritize D&I in their leadership and talent pipeline.
- Conduct and implement actionable changes based on a Maturity Model Assessment, where members of the 3M Legal Affairs team are asked for their observations around how to advance D&I in 3M Legal Affairs.
- Lead successful implementation of the Mansfield Rule in 3M Legal Affairs, which measures whether law firms/law departments recruit and have affirmatively considered diverse lawyers for leadership roles.
