I, Warren Allen II, personally commit to the following:
WTAII (“W-T-A-2”) is a boutique law firm co-founded by lawyers of color. The firm’s founding members are LCLD Fellows (2016 and 2020).
Shortly after WTAII opened in June of 2019, our firm joined LCLD because we share the organization’s commitment to “building a more equitable and diverse legal profession.” To that end, we personally commit to the following:
Personal Commitment
- Modeling inclusive leadership by helping to build and sustain a work environment where each individual is heard and each viewpoint is respected;
- Using our voices as leaders of our organization to advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal profession and our communities more broadly;
- Participating actively in LCLD programming and collaborating with others to identify best practices, means, and methods of increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the practice of law;
- Continuing to mentor, collaborate with, and/or advise diverse attorneys and help identify and expand opportunities for them to develop and grow into leadership roles in their respective organizations;
- Continuing to advocate for woman- and minority-owned firms to be considered and included when corporate legal departments are providing opportunities to work with their organizations or developing their preferred counsel and/or vendor lists; and
- Continuing to support organizations focused on education, social justice, and/or diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Organizational Commitment
WTAII is founded upon and committed to the goal of increasing diversity in the practice of law and hereby commits to:
- Identifying and implementing policies and practices we believe will advance diversity, equity, and inclusion;
- Supporting our professionals’ development and participation in programs that further the firm’s goals in these areas;
- Collaborating with other minority- and woman-owned law firms to identify and expand opportunities for groups that are historically underrepresented in the legal profession;
- Selecting and recommending vendors who are aligned with our firm’s diversity, equity, and inclusion goals; and
- When expanding, identifying and selecting candidates who 1) are excellent attorneys, 2) share our firm’s commitment to increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the legal profession; and 3) expand and enhance our ability to analyze clients’ problems from multiple perspectives.
