The LCLD General Mills Learning Experience in Minneapolis was the perfect combination of education, inspiration, and self-reflection for professional growth. On April 24, the program began with an interactive tour of the Mill City Museum and a dinner and cocktail reception hosted by Faegre Baker Daniels, Littler Mendelson P.C., and Blackwell Burke P.A. On the tour, Fellows learned about the rise and decline of the flour mills in Minneapolis, the influence of the Mississippi River on the city’s growth, and sampled tasty treats baked with General Mills products.
On April 25, Rick Palmore, the EVP, General Counsel, and Secretary of General Mills, and his team hosted the Fellows at General Mills’ headquarters. Palmore set the tone for the day by reminding Fellows of the cornerstones of LCLD’s mission (leadership, action, results) and challenging us to be prepared and pay attention at all times so that we can either seize career or business opportunities—or create our own.
From there, the team members interacted with the Fellows through various panels and presentations on topics such as the law department’s leadership attributes, attorneys as business partners, building your personal brand; executive presence, and effective cross-border collaboration. Fellows also took a guided tour of the Betty Crocker Kitchens. The program concluded with networking with the General Mills team.
The LCLD Fellows thank Rick Palmore, General Mills, Faegre Baker Daniels, Littler Mendelson P.C., and Blackwell Burke P.A. for hosting this memorable experience, and for continuing their commitment to LCLD’s mission.
