The LCLD Success in Law School Mentoring Program is preparing for its fourth year of reaching diverse 1L law students around the country. Its goal is to ensure that talented law students receive the mentoring they need to maximize their potential, both during law school and afterward as they prepare for the bar exam and launch their careers.

Lawyers interested in serving as Mentors in the program for the upcoming academic year may register now through August 31, 2014. All attorneys employed by LCLD Member organizations are eligible to become Mentors.

The basic commitment of the Mentor is to meet with his or her Mentee during both the fall and spring semesters of the academic year, three times per semester, and preferably at least once per semester in person. For more information about becoming an LCLD Mentor, please click here or read the resources below.

In 2013, attorney Mentors from LCLD Member organizations helped more than 850 law student Mentees. Since the program began in 2011, more than 2,200 law students have been matched with attorney Mentors from LCLD Member organizations in more than 30 cities across the U.S.
