2014 Fellow Dennis Hopkins was named a 2014 CUP Catalyst Change Agent | Law by the Council of Urban Professionals for "extraordinary success in business while simultaneously making a significant impact on [his] community." 

2014 Fellow Shani Rivaux was promoted to Partner at Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP.

DARDEN RESTAURANTS LEARNING EXPERIENCE - Orlando, FL: Feb. 5-6, 2015

We are excited to announce the upcoming Fellows Learning Experience at Darden Restaurants in Orlando, Fla., Thursday, February 5, and Friday, February 6, 2015.  Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis with priority for the 2014 Fellows who have not yet attended a Learning Experience. If you're interested in attending, please e-mail Stephanie Uzel at suzel@lcldnet.com as soon as possible. Information including the agenda, hotel block, welcome dinner details, and transportation will be provided to the Fellows attending the event.


REGIONAL ROUNDTABLES

The LCLD Fellows Alumni Regional Committee seeks volunteers to coordinate roundtable events across the country that will feature a prominent CEO, General Counsel, or Managing Partner.  Please also feel free to send suggestions for CEOs, GCs, or MPs you know that could lead a roundtable in one of the following cities: Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, or Washington, D.C. 

This is an excellent opportunity for you to reach out to your contacts and market yourself in your city. If you are interested in volunteering to coordinate these events (or have a roundtable suggestion), please email the Regional Committee Chair, Paula Aguila, at paguila@riveromestre.com by December 31.


COMMUNITY SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS

Under the coordination of 2012 Fellow Gerard Gregoire, 2011 Fellow Diane Webster, and 2012 Fellow Craig Jeffrey, LCLD Midwest Fellows provided 25 toys or monetary gifts for Lydia Home. Lydia Home assists families in need by providing a safe alternative to the welfare system, and the Fellows felt that LCLD could play a significant role in impacting the lives of the less fortunate.

LCLD FELLOWS HAPPY HOUR - Los Angeles, CA: Dec. 22, 2014

The 2014 Los Angeles area Fellows hope to plan regular gatherings around Los Angeles (downtown and Westside) for current Fellows and Fellows Alumni. To kick things off before the New Year, you're invited to a casual, no-host get together on Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at Chaya in downtown Los Angeles from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. (or later). NYC BAR GENERAL COUNSEL DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION FORUM - New York, NY: Dec. 18, 2014

The New York City Bar is hosting the General Counsel Diversity and Inclusion Forum on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, from 8 to 10:30 a.m. General Counsel from some of the country's preeminent life insurance companies will engage in a dialogue about the successes and challenges of establishing and nurturing a diverse and inclusive legal department. CORPORATE COUNSEL INTENSIVE INSTITUTE - Boulder, CO:  Jan. 5-6, 2015

The University of Colorado Law School will host the first-ever Corporate Counsel Intensive Institute (CCII) Jan. 5-9, 2015, at the Wolf Law Building in Boulder, Colorado. 15TH ANNUAL CHARTING YOUR OWN COURSE CAREER CONFERENCE - Orlando, FL: Feb. 5-8, 2015 

The 15th Annual Charting Your Own Course Career Conference (CYOC) will take place Feb. 5-8, 2015, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Orlando, Florida.  The theme for this year’s conference is “Personal Investment.” The conference is hosted by Werten Bellamy and a faculty team of in-house and outside counsel leaders from across the country. NBA COMMERCIAL LAW SECTION 28TH ANNUAL CORPORATE COUNSEL CONFERENCE - Naples, FL: Feb. 26-28, 2015

The 28th Annual Corporate Counsel Conference is scheduled for Feb. 26-28, 2015, at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida. The conference is expected to be sold out again this year. Registration must be received  by Nov. 30, 2014, in order to take advantage of the lowest early bird registration rates.
