Welcome to the LCLD Connections newsletter! This newsletter is primarily for attorney Mentors and student Mentees participating in the LCLD Success in Law School Mentoring Program, but it's also aimed at keeping others affiliated with the program up to date on activities and resources. As always, we welcome your feedback!

86 LCLD Member Organizations to Host 1L Scholars

LCLD is excited to announce that 86 Member organizations have granted internships to an estimated 191 1L LCLD Scholars next summer! Additionally, these law students will have the opportunity to attend the 2015 1L LCLD Scholars Summit, May 28-30, 2015 in Dallas, TX.

On December 1, we posted a list of available 2015 1L LCLD Scholars opportunities. Students are encouraged to apply directly to the listed opportunities.

We thank all of the organizations who have committed to the 2015 1L Scholars Program, and that will enrich the career development of talented and diverse first-year law students and shape the future.

If you have any questions about the 1L LCLD Scholars Program, please contact Louise Bald.

Connections Newsletter Says "Goodbye"; Social Media Says "Hello"

After careful thought and consideration, LCLD will no longer publish the Connections newsletter for the Mentoring Program. We believe that our readers would benefit from joining the larger LCLD community, which includes our Members, Fellows, and Scholars, to name a few. Our hope is that you will join our other participating groups:

We will continue to include relevant articles of interest, guest columns, and important announcements about the program there. So, we say, "Goodbye!" and "Hello!"

Important Resources for Mentors and Mentees

We've highlighted various resources in this newsletter in the past but decided to collect them in one place and make them available to Mentors and Mentees again!

LCLD Mentoring Tool Kit

The LCLD Mentoring Tool Kit was designed to provide a basic roadmap for the work that Mentors and Mentees do together over the course of their relationship. From guiding principles to setting goals for your work together, we think these tools can help tremendously to make your relationship a successful one. For more information, visit the LCLD Mentoring Tool Kit.

LCLD Website

Often times individual sections of the LCLD website are highlighted for the purpose of bringing attention to certain programs or resources. What is often overlooked is the broad spectrum of activities in which LCLD is involved. With that in mind, we simply encourage you to take a few minutes to explore the whole website! You can find more information about who is a Member of LCLD, what other programs are available to students, and upcoming events that may be in your city. We think you'll like what you find at www.lcldnet.com!

If you have any questions, please contact Louise Bald.

Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP Fellows Program Opportunity

Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP (MTO) is proud to introduce the newly enhanced MTO Fellows Program, which is designed to address barriers that face diverse students in applying for and succeeding in law school. MTO will select a cohort of 20-30 potential law school applicants to participate in a one-year long intensive course of study to prepare Fellows to start law school in Fall 2016.

New Contact Information?

With several thousand individuals now involved in the mentoring program, LCLD must constantly work to keep Mentor and Mentee contact information up-to-date. If you have updates to your contact information, especially an email address, please send it to LCLDMentoring@lcldnet.com. Likewise, for Mentors, if you're planning a move to a new firm or corporate law department, please let us know so that we are able to keep you informed after your move!
