2015 FELLOWS:  Be on the look out for an e-mail this week with the sign-up sheet for Learning Experiences.  PLEASE NOTE that you may register today for the Department of Transportation and Department of Justice Learning Experiences (see below).   

DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION LEARNING EXPERIENCE - Washington, D.C.: March 23-24, 2015

On March 24, 2015, LCLD Fellows have an opportunity to get an inside look at legal and policy issues in the U.S. Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C., where Vanessa Allen Sutherland, 2011 LCLD Fellow, is a Presidential appointee and Chief Counsel, Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.  She was also recently nominated as Chairperson and Member, Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board, by President Barack Obama.  If you're interested in attending, please email Stephanie Uzel at suzel@lcldnet.com as soon as possible. 

DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE LEARNING EXPERIENCE - Washington, D.C.: April 26 & 27, 2015

On April 27, 2015, LCLD Fellows have the unique opportunity to go behind the scenes at the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. As the world’s largest office, employing more than 10,000 attorneys, the DOJ has strong leaders at all levels of the organization, and Fellows will have the chance to hear personal stories of setback and success. Fellows will eat lunch with representatives from the Department’s Law Enforcement, Litigation, and Administration of Justice practices and engage in interactive sessions modeled after several of the Department’s distinctive diversity and inclusion programs.  If you are interested in attending, please contact Stephanie Uzel at suzel@lcldnet.com as soon as possible. 

LEADERSHIP LUNCH PLUS - YUM! BRANDS: April 13, 2015 

Registration remains open for the April 13, 2015, Leadership Lunch Plus in Louisville, Kentucky. The lunch is hosted by Christian Campbell, Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Secretary, and Chief Franchise Policy Officer at Yum! Brands, Inc. (parent company of KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut), with his guests John Selent, Managing Partner of the Louisville office of Dinsmore & Shohl LLP and member of the firm's Board of Directors, and George Yund, the Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Executive Committee of Frost Brown Todd LLC.  After lunch, Fellows will tour the Yum! Brands headquarters, and participate in an activity relevant to and designed specifically for this event.  The day will end with a networking reception with attorneys from YUM! Registration fees have been implemented to help cover increased conference expenses including speaker fees, one group dinner, and the growing number of Fellows Alumni.

RICK PALMORE LCLD FELLOWS LEADERSHIP AWARD - Seeking Nominations

The Fellows Alumni are now accepting nominations for the inaugural Rick Palmore LCLD Fellows Leadership Award. The Executive Council of the LCLD Fellows Alumni created this award as a way to celebrate Rick Palmore's contributions to LCLD and to award LCLD Fellows Alumni who have benefited the LCLD Fellows as a community and diverse attorneys generally. To learn more about the award and obtain a nomination form, click here. All nominations should be submitted to Nancy Richardson at nrichardson@lcldnet.com by March 27, 2015, at 5 p.m Eastern Time. Please note that members of the Fellows Alumni Executive Council are not eligible to receive the award. 


2015 ROUNDTABLE SERIES
