On April 13, 2015, K&L Gates in Pittsburgh and PPG Industries co-hosted an LCLD Group Mentoring Program event for local law students.

Peter Kalis (below, right), Chairman and Global Managing Partner of K&L Gates and a member of the LCLD Board of Directors, welcomed Mentors and Mentees to the event, which included a networking reception and panel presentation entitled “Putting Your Best Foot Forward: Exploring Traits of Successful Junior Lawyers.” 

Moderated by Valerie Jackson, Senior Adviser to the Management Committee for K&L Gates, the panel of attorney Mentors included Syed Ali and Melissa Tea from K&L Gates, and Joseph Gette and Anne Foulkes of PPG.

Nearly a hundred members of the Pittsburgh legal community attended the event. Roughly half were law students from the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University, while the rest included lawyers from K&L Gates, PPG Industries, PNC Financial, and other law firms and companies in Pittsburgh.

The event was organized by Jackie Celender and Dotun Obadina, who serve as Pittsburgh City Leads for the LCLD Success in Law School Mentoring program.
