SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY FOR LCLD FELLOWS
The Council for Legal Education Opportunity (CLEO) is preparing to celebrate its 50th anniversary. To commemorate that achievement, they are seeking opinions on the evolution of diversity and inclusion over the years. Please consider the questions below and provide your thoughts to one or more. Selected contributions will be published in an article with attribution to each contributing author, and an introduction by LCLD. Please submit by August 31, 2016.
-
Has diversity changed since you started your legal career – either in how it’s defined, how it’s discussed, or how it’s being measured? If so, how has it changed and what impact has that had? What/who has influenced the change?
-
What still needs to be done? Is there anything that gives you hope that we are making progress and moving towards a more diverse legal profession?
-
How have organizations like LCLD (and others) helped to diversify the legal community? Are there any organizations or initiatives that you think have been innovative in their approach to addressing issues of diversity and inclusion?
-
What role do you think the Supreme Court has played in influencing diversity in the legal profession?
-
Do junior lawyers view diversity differently than senior lawyers? If so, how do you think that will shape diversity and inclusion work going forward?
