In 2017, 52 LCLD Member organizations earned the distinction of “Top Performer” for their participation in and support of LCLD’s mission. This designation recognizes those organizations that are most active in LCLD over the course of the year. Organizations receive points for a variety of LCLD-related activities, including attending the Annual Membership Meeting, having a Fellows Alumna speak at a regional event, or nominating a 1L Scholar.

This year, all 52 organizations nominated at least one Fellow, and most Top Performers nominated Pathfinders and 1L Scholars, sent a representative to the Fellows Alumni Leadership Symposium, and were active in the Success in Law School Mentoring Program. Top Performers also led the charge on some of LCLD’s newest projects by participating in LCLD’s collaborative data initiative and sending representatives to the inaugural Diversity Professionals Summit.

Individual LCLD Members also proved their commitment to LCLD’s mission by hosting regional events, speaking at the Fellows Alumni Leadership Symposium, and recruiting new LCLD Members.

The bar LCLD sets for its Top Performers is raised every year, and yet the number of Member organizations that exceed it also continues to grow, up by 11 from 2016. Eighteen of this year’s Top Performers are being recognized for the first time, and three organizations—AT&T Inc., Capital One Financial, and Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated—achieved Top Performer status in their first full year of membership (all joined in 2016).

2017 marks the fifth year that LCLD has recognized those organizations with the most active commitment to our mission. The following LCLD Member organizations have sustained a high level of dedication over all five years and have been recognized as Top Performers each year since 2013:

  • DLA Piper
  • Eli Lilly and Company
  • Honeywell International, Inc.
  • Hunton & Williams LLP
  • Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP
  • Prudential Financial, Inc.

We applaud these and all of our Members for their continued commitment to building more diverse organizations and a more inclusive legal profession. Your efforts, through LCLD and beyond, truly have an impact on the future of our profession.
