4. In Shift, Justice Department Says Law Doesn’t Bar Transgender Discrimination

The Department of Justice has been ordered to take the position that transgender people are not protected by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964—a reversal from the previous administration’s stance and the current view of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
