2018 Fellow Tami Kameda Sims was recently selected as a Law360 Rising Star in the area of Media and Entertainment.  

2018 Fellow Jill Caiazzo, 2018 Fellow Adrienne Valencia Garcia, and 2015 Fellow Monica Patel have been promoted to IBM executives. 

2017 Fellow Amanda Moore has moved to Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where she is Senior Counsel.  

2015 Fellow Joëlle Khouzam has been admitted to the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. 

2015 Fellow Sheila Mortazavi was named one of the 2018 Women of Influence by the New York Business Journal. Read more here.

2014 Fellow Effie Silva has moved to Tyson Foods, Inc. where she is Vice President and Associate General Counsel. 

2012 Fellow Allison Copeland has moved to Cronin PLLC, where her practice focuses on intellectual property transactions and counseling.

The fifth annual Fellows Alumni Survey launched last week, and we need your feedback! The responses we receive on the survey are invaluable in guiding the growth of the Fellows Program and the Fellows Alumni community, as well as LCLD’s broader mission to make the legal profession as diverse as the country we serve. 

In an effort to hit our target response rate, LCLD will be raffling off a 2-hour executive coaching session with professional coach Ebony Smith to all Fellows who complete the survey before Friday, August 17Click here for more information on Ebony’s approach to working with clients. Click here to take the survey. (Please note that the survey is for Fellows in classes 2011 through 2017.)

City Leads play an important role in organizing regional events for Fellows Alumni and other members of the LCLD community across the country! See the full list of city leads here. If you have an idea for an event or would like to help plan an event in your city, contact your local city lead. 

UNITED AIRLINES LEARNING EXPERIENCE: Chicago, IL - September 17-18, 2018 

Spots remain on the waitlist for Fellows who would like to attend the Learning Experience at United Airlines. The event will be hosted by LCLD Member Brett Hart, Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, and General Counsel. FELLOWS ALUMNI LEADERSHIP ROUNDTABLE: FINDING AND DEVELOPING LAW FIRM LEADERS: Columbus, OH - August 8, 2018, at 4 p.m. 

Fellows are invited to attend a discussion on developing diverse law firm leaders through partnership with in-house attorneys. The panel includes LCLD Fellows Shanna Cohn, Corporate Counsel at AEP Energy, Stacia Marie Jones, Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at Abercrombie & Fitch, and Parag Shah, Associate Vice President at Nationwide, and will be moderated by Albert Lin, Counsel at BakerHostetler. Fellows are invited to attend an event at the American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar in Richmond, VA. The museum is the first in the country to explore the Civil War from three perspectives--Union, Confederate, and African American. Read more about the museum here.
