2019 Fellow Meagan Garland, of Duane Morris, secured a complete victory in Imperial County Superior Court on a motion for summary adjudication in a sexual harassment case brought against her client. The victory was against the backdrop of California’s recent “Me Too” legislation.
2019 Fellow Lei Shen was featured in a profile on Law.com, discussing her experience of making partner while working an alternative schedule.
2019 LCLD Fellow Tanya Southerland has been promoted to Senior Managing Counsel, Strategic Growth at Mastercard.
2015 Fellow and Insurance Recovery Counsel Sergio F. Oehninger presented a CLE at the DC Bar on “What Every Litigator Should Know About Insurance and How It May Impact Your Case Strategy” on March 14, 2019. Sergio will be on a panel at the Hispanic National Bar Association’s Corporate Counsel Conference on March 21, 2019 discussing (i) risk mitigation strategies for in-house lawyers and (ii) relevant insurance coverages for lawyers, including Employed Lawyers Liability Coverage, Cyber Insurance, and Malpractice Insurance. He was recently quoted in a Law360 article on the significance of Anadarko’s Texas Supreme Court joint venture insurance win and published another piece on insurance coverage for losses related to the Government Shutdown.
2015 Fellow Travis Torrence has been named the 2019 Chair of the Houston Bar Foundation.

The Rick Palmore LCLD Alumni Award recognizes the outstanding achievements, commitment, and leadership of LCLD Fellows Alumni and Pathfinder Alumni whose exemplary contributions have had a substantial and lasting impact on the LCLD Fellows and Pathfinder network and in advancing the mission and goals of LCLD in the communities in which we practice and the legal profession more broadly.

Please also review the nomination process, which includes selection criteria, background on the award, and an outline of supplemental materials needed, should your nominee advance in the selection process.

LEARNING EXPERIENCE: Lockheed Martin - Washington, DC - May 7-8, 2019
On May 8, 2019, Lockheed Martin Corporation Senior Vice-President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Maryanne Lavan, will welcome the LCLD Fellows to Lockheed's Global Vision Center for a Learning Experience. LCLD Member Law Firm Crowell & Moring LLP will host a Welcome Event on May 7, 2019.

CONECTA MEXICO TELECOM FORUM: Mexico City - April 2-4, 2019
2016 Fellow Guillermo Christensen, Partner at Ice Miller, will be speaking on cybersecurity on April 2-4 to the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce and “Conecta Mexico Telecom Forum” in Mexico City, as well as meeting with human rights lawyers involved in data privacy. LCLD is excited to bring Mock Interviews to the agenda again for 2019 1L Scholars, but we can’t do it without your help. The 2019 1L LCLD Scholars Summit takes place June 4-6, 2019, in Atlanta, GA. Mock Interviews will be held June 4, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sheraton Atlanta.
