Did you know? The deadline to nominate an LCLD Fellows Alumnus or Pathfinder Alumnus for the 2019 Rick Palmore LCLD Alumni Award is this Friday, April 5, at 5:00 pm ET.

2018 Fellow Precious Jacobs was selected as one of the recipients of the Chicago Scholars 35 Under 35 Young Leaders Making An Impact Award. Chicago Scholars is the largest college access and success program in Chicago serving more than 3,000 Scholars and Alumni each year through its college access and success mentoring and career support programs.

2018 Fellow Kristin White is now a Partner at Fisher & Phillips LLP in the firm’s Denver office.

2017 Fellow Tamera Woodard has been promoted to Vice President – Associate General Counsel for HR and AT&T Inc. Litigation Matters.

2016 Fellow Veena Viswanatha has been promoted to Partner at Buckley LLP.

2015 Fellow Rafael X. Zahralddin with Elliott Greenleaf, P.C. was selected by Inquirer readers and evaluated by an expert panel judges who felt he shaped, changed, and transformed the legal industry as a 2019 Influencer of Law winner. From countless nominations, Zahralddin was selected as part of 54 winners who were honored at an awards ceremony in the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia, PA, on March 26, 2019, and was profiled in a special section in the Sunday Inquirer.

2013 Fellow Brenda DiLuigi of Linklaters has been promoted to Partner.

2011 Fellow Vanessa Allen Sutherland has been promoted to Senior Vice President Law and Chief Legal Officer at Norfolk Southern.

UPDATES TO THE FELLOWS WEEKLY JOB POSTING POLICY
Effective today, please note that the policy for posting job opportunities in the Fellows Weekly Announcements (FWA) has changed. All new positions must either require a J.D. degree or explicitly state that a J.D. degree is preferred, in addition to at least seven (7) years of experience. Associate level positions (or equivalent) are not posted in the FWA. Jobs included in recent issues of the FWA that do not fit the new requirements will be allowed to remain for the duration of their run period.

2019 Fellows Announcements

LEARNING EXPERIENCE: Exelon Corporation - Baltimore, MD - May 21-22, 2019
Exelon Corporation Senior Vice-President and General Counsel Thomas O'Neill will welcome the LCLD Fellows to Exelon's Corporate Headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland, for a unique full two-day Learning Experience on May 21-22, 2019. Day One will include a presentation and tour of the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station. Afterwards, Fellows will be transported to the Conowingo Hydroelectric Generating Station for a presentation and tour. The day will end with a baseball game hosted by Exelon and McGuireWoods at a private suite at Camden Yards where Baltimore's beloved Orioles will take on some team from New York. Day Two will be at Exelon's HQ and feature a session with Exelon's President and CEO Christopher Crane, a tour of Constellation's trading floor, among other substantive sessions with Exelon leaders and Fellows.

LEADERSHIP LUNCH: Venable LLP/K12 Inc. - Washington, D.C. - May 9, 2019 
Please join Lawrence Gesner, Co-Managing Partner of Venable LLC, and Vince Mathis, Executive Vice-President and General Counsel of K12, Inc., for a Leadership Lunch on Thursday, May 9, 2019. The lunch will take place at the Washington, D.C. office of Venable (600 Massachusetts Avenue, NW).

LEARNING EXPERIENCE: Lockheed Martin - Washington, DC - May 7-8, 2019

CONECTA MEXICO TELECOM FORUM: Mexico City - April 2-4, 2019

2016 Fellow Guillermo Christensen, Partner at Ice Miller, will be speaking on cybersecurity on April 2-4 to the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce and “Conecta Mexico Telecom Forum” in Mexico City, as well as meeting with human rights lawyers involved in data privacy. The Rick Palmore LCLD Alumni Award recognizes the outstanding achievements, commitment, and leadership of LCLD Fellows Alumni and Pathfinder Alumni whose exemplary contributions have had a substantial and lasting impact on the LCLD Fellows and Pathfinder network and in advancing the mission and goals of LCLD in the communities in which we practice and the legal profession more broadly.

FELLOWS NEEDED TO CONDUCT 1L SCHOLARS MOCK INTERVIEWS: Atlanta, GA - June 4, 2019

LCLD is excited to bring Mock Interviews to the agenda again for 2019 1L Scholars, but we can’t do it without your help. The 2019 1L LCLD Scholars Summit takes place June 4-6, 2019, in Atlanta, GA. Mock Interviews will be held June 4, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sheraton Atlanta.

Posting of Job Opportunities in the Fellows Weekly Announcements

We welcome job postings from our Member organizations to be featured in the Fellows Weekly announcements (FWA) at no cost. All positions must either require a J.D. degree or explicitly state that a J.D. degree is preferred, in addition to at least seven (7) years of experience. Associate level positions (or equivalent) are not posted in the FWA.

Postings will remain in the FWA for four (4) consecutive weeks and then be removed. You may request one posting renewal for an additional four (4) weeks. Opportunities received in accordance with the policy prior to 5 p.m. ET on Sunday will be posted in the Fellows Weekly Announcements released on the following Tuesday.*
