Welcome to the Fellows Weekly Announcements

Dear Fellows Community,

I am devastated with the losses that the LCLD community has suffered over the weekend.  On Saturday, 2016 Fellow Katrina Dennis lost her battle with breast cancer.  She was only 39 years old. Katrina was a Partner in the Baltimore Office of Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr LLP.  I knew Katrina long before my time with LCLD.  When I was with Maryland Law, she would conduct on-campus interviews on behalf of the firm she was with at the time.  She was vivacious and friendly.  Despite her illness, Katrina continued to be involved in the Baltimore legal community and stay involved with LCLD.

We were also hit with the news that former LCLD Member Kurtis Tunnel was killed when a driver hit his bicycle as he was cycling on Saturday morning.  Kurt was the former Managing Partner of Bricker & Eckler LLP in Columbus, OH.  He was a huge supporter of LCLD and a titan in the Columbus legal community.  He left an impression on everyone he met and epitomized the mission and ideals of LCLD.

Both of these individuals will be sorely missed in our community.  As we get information on their memorial services, we will pass it along. In the meantime, please keep Katrina and Kurt’s families and friends in your thoughts and prayers.  The Baltimore and Columbus legal communities have lost a couple of great leaders.

Nichole
