Welcome to the Fellows Weekly Announcements
Dear Fellows,
Another week, another step closer to understanding why some animals eat their young. We all have our ways of coping right now and, in case you couldn’t tell, bad humor is mine. For any Hamilton fans, the song “History Has Its Eyes On You” seems relevant right now. What will the history books say about this time? Will it be a line on a page, or an entire chapter? And will Lin Manuel Miranda have a descendant as talented as he is?
Shifting away from such deep thoughts, I wanted to bring you some exciting news. My idea of exciting news may be different than yours, but humor me here. This is the last edition of this newsletter as you see it now. Beginning NEXT WEEK, we will premier a new and improved weekly newsletter. The first change will be the title. This newsletter has an audience of current Fellows and LCLD Alumni (Fellows and Pathfinder). So instead of “Fellows Weekly Announcements,” it will be rebranded as “Talent Rising.” The content will still feature announcements, events, and job postings, so please keep sending those in!
Next, the newsletter will now come directly from Caitlin Puffenberger, LCLD’s Communications Manager, at cpuffenberger@lcldnet.com. There will also be an adjustment to personal announcement and job posting submissions. In lieu of emailing Caitlin or myself directly, there will be a button embedded within the newsletter for you to click and submit any job posting or announcement that you would like to include in the following week’s issue. If you have announcements for next week, you can submit them via the form here; if you have job opportunities you would like to share, you can submit them here.
Lastly, this will also be the last week where you see my smiling face at the top of the issue. Instead, I will be at the bottom on a smaller scale with some of my fellow Program Managers (I know this will be the hardest change for some of you to digest, and that’s why I included it at the end).
Sometimes those who work behind-the-scenes don’t get the credit that they deserve, so I want to thank our hard-working Communications team of Caitlin Puffenberger and Jessica Sabesan, who have been living and breathing these changes for the past several months.
The LCLD staff has been brainstorming ways to bring you virtual content and community during these times. We won’t be absent and hope to be a resource for you to turn to when you need it. Stay tuned!
Be well,
Nichole
