LGBT BAR ANNUAL AWARD NOMINATIONS

If you would like to nominate a Fellow for one of the following awards, please reach out to him or her.  Nominations for the following awards must be submitted no later than June 9th at 5:00pm EDT.

The Allies for Justice Award recognizes a straight ally in the legal profession who, in their position of leadership, has allied with the LGBT community to make a noteworthy contribution to the struggle for civil rights and equality in the field of law. Click here to nominate a Fellow for the Allies for Justice Award.

The Dan Bradley Award, the LGBT Bar's highest honor, recognizes the efforts of a member of the LGBT legal community whose work, like Attorney Dan Bradley’s, has led the way in the struggle for equality under the law. Dan Bradley was the first chair of the American Bar Association Section of Individual Rights and Responsibility's Committee on the Rights of Gay People (now the Committee for Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity). Dan Bradley saw the law as a powerful instrument of social justice, and he believed that lawyers had an obligation to place their skills as advocates at the service of the least powerful among us.  Click here to nominate a Fellow for the Dan Bradley Award.

The National LGBT Bar Association is now accepting nominations for its fifth annual Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 Award. This year, the LGBT Bar will recognize 40 LGBT legal professionals (practicing lawyers, law professors, corporate counsel, members of the judiciary, politicians, etc.) under the age of 40 who have distinguished themselves in their field and have demonstrated a profound commitment to LGBT equality.  Nominees must be self-identified LGBT attorneys admitted to practice in any U.S. jurisdiction and must have been born on or after August 22, 1974. Click here to nominate a Fellow for the Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 Award.  Please submit (1) a nomination form, (2) statement of Support of Nominee that provides details on his/her achievements within his/her legal field and his/her commitment to LGBT equality (not to exceed 2 pages), (3) the Nominee's current resume, and (4) letters of support.
