COMMUNITY SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS

2013 Fellow Dawn Valdivia was recently nominated for the MASK (Mothers Raising Awareness for School Aged Kids) Unity Award for her service on the Make-A-Wish® Arizona Board of Directors. Before becoming a mom, Dawn was a Valley Big Sister for over 12 years and was a volunteer homeroom “parent” at Capitol Elementary School from 2004-2009. She has worked with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children by providing pro bono legal services to assist with the return of abducted children and has represented families in poverty status with divorce and custody issues. More recently, Dawn was an active volunteer and served as PTO co-president at Biltmore Preparatory Academy, a Title I public school in the Creighton School District. 

2012 Fellow Danielle Rawls will be joining the board of YouthCare Minnesota in February.  YouthCare Minnesota is a multicultural organization dedicated to helping urban youth develop life skills.

15TH ANNUAL CHARTING YOUR OWN COURSE CAREER CONFERENCE - Orlando, FL: Feb. 5-8, 2015 

The 15th Annual Charting Your Own Course Career Conference (CYOC) will take place Feb. 5-8, 2015, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Orlando, Florida.  The theme for this year’s conference is “Personal Investment.” The conference is hosted by Werten Bellamy and a faculty team of in-house and outside counsel leaders from across the country. ABA LITIGATION SECTION CORPORATE COUNSEL COMMITTEE ANNUAL SEMINAR AND MEETING - Miami, FL: Feb. 12-15, 2015

Registration is now open for the ABA Litigation Section Corporate Counsel Committee's 2015 CLE Seminar and Meeting at the Trump National Doral Resort in Miami, Florida on February 12–15, 2015. Registration is FREE for in-house counsel.

In addition to new, cutting-edge CLE programs, the 2015 seminar will feature advanced skill-building workshops (including litigation budgeting), programs with judges, a General Counsel Forum and a Litigation Management Roundtable. The Open In-House Forum addresses topics of interest to in-house counsel (without outside counsel present). For outside counsel, there is an interactive program on client-concentric business development. NBA COMMERCIAL LAW SECTION 28TH ANNUAL CORPORATE COUNSEL CONFERENCE - Naples, FL: Feb. 26-28, 2015

The 28th Annual Corporate Counsel Conference is scheduled for Feb. 26-28, 2015, at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida. The conference is expected to be sold out again this year.
