2016 -2017 ADVOCACY PROGRAM KICK-OFF
October will mark the 4th installment of the LCLD Fellows Advocacy Program.  The program, designed to assist Fellows from all classes advocate on behalf of each other in their careers, will kick-off in late October.   To join the Advocacy Program, or for more information, please email 2013 Fellow Kyle Ferachi (kferachi@mcglinchey.com) or 2013 Fellow Caryn Boisen (cboisen@larsonking.com).

2016 Fellow Guillermo Christensen will be discussing “Cybersecurity: An Enterprise Risk Management Approach” on October 19, 2016 to the American Public Power Association’s Legal & Regulatory Conference in Long Beach California.  On October 25, he will also be speaking on “Managing Your Risks from Hackers and Insiders” at the Baker Botts October CLE program described below in the Opportunities and Events of Interest section.

2016 Fellow Janeen Lofton and was recognized by Secretary Clinton for her advocacy work within the sphere of legal diversity at the National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firm’s annual convention.  Click here to Secretary Clinton's address. 

2016 Fellow Abam Mambo-Doh accepted a new position as GlaxoSmithKline's Ethics and Compliance Director – Africa and has relocated to Johannesburg.

2015 Fellow Heather Choi is speaking on the panel “Legal Ethics of Email and Social Media” at the Baker Botts October CLE program described below in the Opportunities and Events of Interest section.

2012 Danielle Ducre Rawls was promoted to Senior Counsel at Ditech.

LCLD FELLOWS CRUISE: January 13-16, 2017

EVENTS AND OPPORTUNITIES OF INTEREST    

BAKER BOTTS OCTOBER CLE:  Washington, DC - October 25, 2016

Baker Botts October CLE program “Business As Unusual? The Impact of the Election, Geopolitics, Cyber Threats and New Regulations in a Year of Transition” will be hosted in Baker Botts’ DC office.  The meeting will feature CLE panels, a luncheon with special guest speaker Mike Allen (former Chief White House Correspondent for POLITICO) and a cocktail reception.  Geared for in-house counsel and compliance officers, corporate executives and leading government relations professionals, the interactive panel discussions will also focus on: Environmental and Energy Trends and Emerging Issues, Impacts of International Sanctions and Brexit on Cross-Border Transactions, Enforcement Risks and Liability Issues for Officers and Directors, and Legal Ethics of Email and Social Media.  The conference is aimed at business executives and in-house counsel and will provide up to 6.5 hours of CLE.  Please contact Caitlin White at caitlin.white@bakerbotts.com for more information.
