Fellows Events and Opportunities

CALLING ALL DC FELLOWS!

The 2017 Pathfinders will have their final meeting in Washington, D.C. in November and we’d like to invite you to be part of the action. On Friday, November 3, from 2-6 p.m. we will be hosting a session called “What Got You Here Won’t Get You There”. The session is described here. It will start as a facilitated discussion, led by LCLD teaching faculty Elise Holtzman, and then break into coffee chats sorted by topic and hosted by you, the LCLD Fellows. We want the coffee chats to be a no-holds-barred conversation and we’d like you to be willing to share real life stories of your successes and failures relating to the topic you sign up for. Email Lori Lorenzo for more information or to volunteer to host a chat on one of the topics listed below. Click here for more information.

  • Identifying and developing the "next level" skills. How did you know you needed to change? How did you make those changes effectively?
  • Leading others. What is the hardest thing about managing others and managing up? How do you do it effectively?
  • Making an action plan. What did you do to stay on track for your goals? What behaviors, attitudes, and beliefs do you have that help you stay focused?
  • Isolation. The path to the top can sometimes be lonely for diverse lawyers. How do you handle isolation, stay mentally tough, and develop a safety net of friends, colleagues, and advisors.
  • The biggest mistake you ever made (and how it all worked out in the end).
  • Balance. As the workload increases and the demands on your personal time change, how do you stay balanced?
