Did you know? 
LCLD is monitoring COVID-19 and its impact on our programs, and will be in contact if events are cancelled or postponed.

2020 Fellow Sylvia-Rebecca Gutierrez will be speaking about the 2020 Census at the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey’s annual Women's Empowerment Leadership & Law conference at Rutgers University, Livingston Student Center, Piscataway, NJ on March 14.

2020 Fellow Martin Strauch was promoted to Special Counsel at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP.  

2020 Fellow Carlos White was recently featured in the  “Titans of Franchising” article by Franchise Journal.

2019 Fellow Amber Finch was featured in a podcast from Reed Smith on overcoming implicit bias. Listen here.  

2017 Fellow X. Christina Huang has moved to Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, where she is Counsel.  

2016 Fellow Rob Peal has moved to Sims | Funk, PLC. 

2015 Fellow Saminaz Akhter and Larry Chattoo, who met through LCLD, recently co-hosted a Black History Month event in Blank Rome's Washington, DC office. Read more here

2015 Fellow Arthur Anthony co-moderated (with former Dallas Bar President Scott McElhaney) a discussion with Dr. Eric Foner, Pulitzer Prize-winning author and professor emeritus of history at Columbia University, in connection with his new book “The Second Founding;  How the Civil War and Reconstruction Remade the Constitution” on February 27, 2020. The event was part of the Dallas Bar Association’s commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the ratification of the 15th Amendment.

2015 Fellow Karla Haynes was promoted to Director & Associate General Counsel, Global Trade Compliance at Facebook.  

2015 Fellow Travis Torrence was named a 2020 Best LGBTQ+ Lawyer Under 40. Read more here

2014 Fellow Wesley Bizzell published an article titled "LGBTQ Diversity & Inclusion in the Legal Profession: The Basics and Beyond" in the International In-House Counsel Journal. Read it here

2013 Fellow Adine Momoh, her husband Vince, and their daughter Alexandria welcomed the newest addition to their family, Vincent Sahr Samuel Baillet, Jr. on March 4, 2020, at 7:44 am, measuring 7 lbs, 5 oz and 20.25 in. Adine and her family are doing well.

2020 Fellows Announcements 

UPDATE ON COCA-COLA LEARNING EXPERIENCE 

Due to the coronavirus COVID-19, The Coca-Cola Company has made the difficult decision to postpone its upcoming Learning Experience. We are hopeful to set a new date in the calendar year. There are still seven Learning Experiences scheduled for 2020 Fellows; see the LCLD calendar for dates (excluding the Adtalem Global Education event). LCLD and its Member corporations are closely monitoring the evolving situation. Decisions on other LCLD events will be made and communicated on a timely basis. 

LEADERSHIP LUNCH: Arlington, VA - April 20, 2020

2020 Fellows who have not yet attended a Leadership Lunch may now register for a lunch hosted by  Joel Unruch, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary of Accenture, and Ellen Dwyer, Chair of Crowell & Moring's Executive Committee and LCLD Chair. The lunch will be followed by a special tour of Accenture's Cyber Fusion Center. The Rick Palmore LCLD Alumni Award recognizes the outstanding achievements, commitment, and leadership of LCLD Fellows Alumni and Pathfinder Alumni whose exemplary contributions have had a substantial and lasting impact on the LCLD Fellows and Pathfinder network and in advancing the mission and goals of LCLD in the communities in which we practice and the legal profession more broadly.

2020 ALL IN! CAMPAIGN: NOW OPEN

The 2020 "All In!" Campaign for LCLD Alumni contributions is underway! The campaign helps fund regional Alumni events, Alumni initiatives, and a portion of the Leadership Symposium. The All In! campaign is open to all LCLD Alumni, and will include 2019 Fellows immediately after their third and final Fellows meeting in Miami. Click here to make your contribution today. OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY: LCLD ALUMNI PARTNER WITH POSSE FOUNDATION 

The Outreach Committee is excited to announce a new partnership with The Posse Foundation. Posse is a national pipeline organization focused on identifying, recruiting, and supporting diverse high school students throughout college. MOCK INTERVIEWERS NEEDED: 2020 1L LCLD SCHOLARS SUMMIT: Atlanta, GA - June 3, 2020 

The 2020 1L Scholars will participate in Mock Interviews on Wednesday, June 3, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm ET at The Westin Peachtree in Atlanta. We're currently in need of attorneys from LCLD Member organizations to conduct interviews for the Scholars for this exercise. Posting of Job Opportunities in the Fellows Weekly Announcements

We welcome job postings from our Member organizations to be featured in the Fellows Weekly announcements (FWA) at no cost. Jobs must require at least seven (7) years of experience and state that a J.D. degree is required or preferred. Associate level positions (or equivalent) are not posted in the FWA.

Postings will remain in the FWA for four (4) consecutive weeks and then be removed. You may request one posting renewal for an additional four (4) weeks. Opportunities received in accordance with the policy prior to 5 p.m. ET on Sunday will be posted in the Fellows Weekly Announcements released on the following Tuesday.*
