Final Day to Nominate a 2015 Fellow
Today is the last day to nominate a 2015 Fellow. By nominating a Fellow to participate in LCLD's yearlong relationship building and leadership training program, your organization has the opportunity to shape the future leaders of the legal profession.

Ivan Fong of 3M Launches Fellows Regional Roundtable

Ivan Fong, LCLD Member and General Counsel of 3M Company, recently hosted the inaugural Fellows Regional Roundtable, a forum he initiated in collaboration with Fellows Alumni that will roll out nationally in early 2015.
For this pilot Roundtable, Fong welcomed 10 local Fellows Alumni to the 3M headquarters in Saint Paul, Minnesota for an informal, two-hour discussion over lunch about the qualities of leadership and “covering”—the tendency of individuals to over-manage or downplay their differences from others at work.
“The Roundtable was a terrific experience,” said Fong. “I got to know a group of extremely talented ‘rising stars’ in the Twin Cities legal community. And for them, it was a way to get to know me and discuss top-of-mind topics such as how to be a more effective leader and how to develop one's career. For all of us, it was a chance to learn from each other.”
The idea for this new initiative originated at the 2014 LCLD Leadership Summit, where Fong expressed his desire to get involved with the local Twin Cities Fellows. Also in attendance, Lica Tomizuka, a 2013 Fellow and Partner at Faegre Baker Daniels LLP, and Cassandra Headrick, a 2012 Fellow and Executive Counsel at The Travelers Companies, spoke with Fong about his interest and worked with him to organize this first Regional Roundtable. A Look Back at 2014's Most Active Members

The video slideshow above features LCLD's most active Member organizations in 2014.
The Members profiled above found many ways to support the LCLD mission in 2014. All of them nominated a Fellow (which many LCLD organizations have come to regard as a necessity), and nearly all hosted at least one 1L Scholar, observed the webinar, supplied mentors to our Law School Mentoring program, and attended the Annual Members Meeting.
Yet these most active Members also found other ways to contribute.
Twenty one of them sent their Fellows Alumni to the annual Conference (which 10 of them also sponsored). Fourteen volunteered to speak at a Fellows meeting. Eleven provided City Leads for the Mentoring program; ten hosted a Leadership Lunch; and three of our most active corporate Members (Altria, General Mills, and UnitedHealth Group) hosted the Fellows for a day-long Learning Experience, like the one hosted by Altria General Counsel Denise Keane in October. Los Angeles Leadership Lunch
In advance, we'd like to thank the following LCLD Members who will be speaking to Fellows at a Leadership Lunch this month: Alan Braverman, LCLD Board Member, and Senior Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of The Walt Disney Company, and Greg Nitzkowski, Managing Partner of Paul Hastings LLP.
